How to program a new transmitter ?

How to progam a new transmitter ?

APPLICABLE TO POWERSTART REMOTE ENGINE STARTER Model: SPA-2000, P-9000, P-3000TW, P-7000TW, P-6000TW, P-8000TW, P-4A/M

NEW TRANSMITTER CODE LEARNING PROCEDURE
1/ Open the hood (hood pin switch or mercury switch must be installed and working properly)
2/ Turn key to ignition (do not start the engine, you have 15 sec to do the next step)
3/ Press 3 times on the red valet push button, you gonna hear 5 beeps to confirm that you are in programmation mode.
4/ Press 20 times on the same valet push button, count 20 beeps.
5/ Press and release the brake pedal.
6/ Press on any button of the transmitter for 2 seconds, you gonna hear 5 beeps to confirm the code has been learned.
7/ Turn ignition OFF, and close the hood to exit programmation mode.


APPLICABLE TO POWERSTART REMOTE ENGINE STARTER Model: P-5000A/M, P-5500A/M, P-5U, P-8U serie

NEW TRANSMITTER CODE LEARNING PROCEDURE
1/ Turn ignition key ON - OFF 3 times, leave the key at ON position (do not start the engine, you have 15 sec to do the next step)
2/ Press 1 time on the antenna button, you gonna hear 5 beeps to confirm that you are in programmation mode.
3/ Press 20 times on the antenna button, count 20 beeps.
4/ Press and release the brake pedal.
5/ Press on any button of the transmitter for 2 seconds, you gonna hear 5 beeps to confirm the code has been learned.
6/ Turn ignition OFF to exit programmation mode.


APPLICABLE TO POWERSTART REMOTE ENGINE STARTER Model: PS-1010, PS-2015 serie

NEW TRANSMITTER CODE LEARNING PROCEDURE
1/ Turn ignition key ON - OFF 3 times, leave the key at ON position (do not start the engine, you have 15 sec to do the next step)
2/ Press 1 time on the antenna button, you gonna hear 5 beeps to confirm that you are in programmation mode.
3/ Press 1 time on the antenna button, count 1 beep.
4/ Press and release the brake pedal.
5/ Press on any button of the transmitter for 2 seconds, you gonna hear 5 beeps to confirm the code has been learned.
6/ Turn ignition OFF to exit programmation mode.
 

How to put the system into valet mode ?

How to put the system into or remove the valet mode ?
In case of you lose your transmitter or your system does not respond to the transmitter, you can put the system into valet mode to be able to disable the starter-kill or stop the alarm. The valet mode is also usefull when you want to give your vehicle for servicing

APPLICABLE TO POWERSTART REMOTE ENGINE STARTER Model: SPA-2000, P-9000, P-3000TW, P-7000TW, P-6000TW, P-8000TW, P-4A/M

1/ Put the key into the barrel and turn to IGNITION ON.
2/ Press and hold the brake pedal.
3/ Press 3 times on the red valet push button. (you gonna hear 3 beeps to confirm that the system is OFF)

Note: if the system was armed, you have to do these step twice to get into permanent valet mode. The LED on the dashboard or on the antenna will stay steady ON.

To remove the valet mode, do the same steps above. you gonna hear 1 beep, LED on the dashbord or on the antenna will turn OFF.


APPLICABLE TO POWERSTART REMOTE ENGINE STARTER Model: P-5000 serie, P-5500 serie, P-8U serie, PS-1010, PS-2015 serie

1/ Put the key into the barrel and turn to IGNITION ON.
2/ Press and hold for 5 sec the push button on the antenna. (you gonna hear 3 beeps to confirm that the system is OFF)

Note: The LED on the antenna will stay steady ON. When valet mode is activated, you cannot remote start. Alarm function is disable.

To remove the valet mode, do the same steps above. you gonna hear 1 beep, LED on the antenna will turn OFF.

How to diagnose the system when the remote start is not working ?
DIAGNOSTIC FOR REMOTE STARTER
Each time you try to remote start and the vehicle doesn't start, you can obtain a diagnostic from the system by following this procedure:

1 - Disarm the system with unlock button.
2 - Get into the car and press once on the antenna button.
3 - The parking lights will flash to indicate the diagnostic of the system.

Please refer to this chart to locate the issues.

Manual transmission vehicle: the exit sequence is cancel within 5 sec after engine shutdow

Why the exit sequence is cancel within 5 sec after engine is shutdown ?

The system still detect a TACH signal or IGNITION after the engine is shut down.

Vehicle with manual transmission. Why the exit sequence can not be performed ?
For safety, the manual transmission remote starter system has to perform an “Exit Sequence“, that is activated by the user. This is to make sure the vehicle is not in gear when the remote starter is engaged.

PROGRAMMING EXIT SEQUENCE FOR REMOTE STARTING
Follow the sequence outlined below when exit the vehicle to enable the remote starter function. The following must perform without touching the clutch pedal and all doors also windows must be closed.

ENGINE IS RUNNING
1 - Place the gear shifter in the neutral position.
2 - Set the emergency brake (hand brake).(see NOTE 2)
3 - Release the brake pedal.
4 - Press START button on transmitter. The parking lights will flash one time. (see NOTE 2)
5 - Remove the key from the ignition. The engine should keep running.
6 - Open the door(s) and get out of the vehicle.
7 - The engine will automatically stop running 3 seconds after the last door is closed. The system is now ready for remote starting.

NOTE: Opening any door after the engine has stopped running will cancel the remote starter set-up. If you try to remotely start the engine the parking lights will flash rapidly 8 times and the engine will not start. The remote starter will not function until the exit sequence is performed again.

NOTE 2: If automatic sequence option is enable, you don't have to press on the START buton, just pull the hand brake (once or twice) to get into exit sequence.


IF THE PARKING LIGHTS DOES'NT FLASH AT STEP 4, and removing the key shutdown the engine:

A - the system is in valet mode:
For SPA-2000, PL-3000 serie, PL-6000 serie, PL-7000 serie, PL-8000 serie, P-9000 serie, P-4 serie, P-5U serie: Put the toggle switch to OFF position.
For P-5000 serie, P-5500 serie, P-8U serie, PS-1010, PS-2015 serie: Shutdown the engine, and remove the valet mode. repeat the steps above.

B -One or more of those signal is missing, check the wiring:
The hood signal: hood must be closed, no ground on Brown input wire
The doors signal: doors must be closed, proper polarity on Blue/White wire (+ when close), or White/Blue wire (- when close).
The hand brake: Hand brake must be pulled, Blue wire (- when pull).
The TACH signal: when engine is running, the LED on the remote engine unit must blink. (Purple wire AC input)


WARNING - STARTER WITH MANUAL SHIFT
the installation of a remote starter MUST be carried out with an indicated manual transmission remote starter. It is the sole responsibility of the operator of the vehicle to make sure that the vehicle is left with the transmission in neutral when the remote starter is used. The manual transmission remote starter is designed as supplementary measure of safety ONLY! The manufacturer does not guarantee or does not insure against any damage or loss of life, which can result from remote starting the remote starter when the vehicle is in gear. The models for manual transmission are only designed to act as a preventive measure against starting in gear; it remains the sole responsibility of the operator or the owner of the vehicle to make sure the transmission is in neutral.

Why my car crank but doesn't start when i try to remote start ?
The problem doesn't come from the remote starter unit itself but from the transponder by-pass module. From years 2000, most of vehicle are equipped with transponder anti-thief system. (IC chip in the key). If the transponder bypass module is defect, it doesn't provide the security code who prevent the car to start.
Check the transponder bypass module to fix the issue.
